My name is Kate Marchant; a professionally qualified HR specialist widely experienced at providing HR support at a senior level in the corporate world. I have worked at a senior level supporting business leaders in managing their people also helping employees achieve career aspirations. I pride myself on an open, pragmatic and, dare I say, jargon free approach to HR solutions whilst maintaining a commercial focus.

Having worked for larger organisations I have taken the decision to branch out on my own as I really want to help SME’s navigate the sometimes-complex area of managing people in a way that suits their own ethos and culture.

Running HR will help you get in place what you need to be legally compliant from a people perspective. When starting your business, there is a lot to think about and it is important to get the right foundations in place.

Established SMEs

Running HR can review your existing HR policies and procedures, make recommendations and/or introduce new ones. Running HR can also be your ‘go to’ for HR support as and when required or on a more permanent and continuous basis – you decide.

All Companies Project Work

Running HR can come in and help with any HR project from a recruitment campaign to a change management programme. These may be projects that require specialist input or additional resource where a permanent individual is not required.

Retained HR Support

Shaped to fit your needs – this could be a day a week, a day a month or as and when you need it. You decide and, of course, it can be tweaked or changed if needs change. This is where our outsourced HR support can help. As well as being able to provide support as and when you require it, we have a number of trusted partners who we are able to pull in should there be a need.

Documentation Review

Running HR can review all your existing policies and employment contracts and make recommendations for any changes and/or the introduction of any new or missing policies and procedures. This includes support on the roll out of any new policies, procedures or schemes. Having the correct documentation in place is critical in order to protect your business and we will be able to ensure that you are fully up-to-date.

Pay As You Go

Just contact Running HR as and when you need outsourced HR support – examples, but by no means exhaustive, are – one off employee issues such as harassment, bullying, discrimination allegations, grievance hearings, disciplinary hearings, investigations, absence management meetings, welfare visits, restructures, TUPE transfers, recruitment, exit interviews, maternity leave queries and many more HR related scenarios. Our services are flexible and there as and when you need them for as large or small a project as you require.

Project Work

This can be any larger HR project and there may some overlap with some of the pay as you go areas, however, examples are – large restructures and TUPE transfers (change management programmes), introduction of an appraisal system, recruitment campaign, IR 35, larger scale roll out of any new policy or procedure, high risk and/or complex employee relations issues, upskilling managers in performance management and succession planning.
